Am Happy!

What defines happiness?

We as human , tend to feel happy for anything and everything which jumps out of our dreams and plans into real world. I was thinking what defines Happiness?

Sometime life is hard. We feel depressed ,dejected and frustrated because nothing is moving as we plan and that leads to the end of word called happiness.
Oh man what a narrow thinking we have!!

somebody is sad because his career is not moving..

Somebody is ill doesn't even think about career only thing which can make him happy is a healthy body and peaceful mind though his disease is minor and very well treatable ..

Somebody who is at worse stage of health conditions and prays to god that he would have been a happy person if his issues were controllable..

Somebody who is facing problems at a level were he is not even having any medical facilities and life has been a struggle right from the start thinks ..god is not kind to him and nobody cares for him and he slogs for basic necessities..

Somebody who is suffering from a disease which has left him with no senses and he cant even think about...what is it that will make him HAPPY..

Hmm..Now how do we define happiness?

Am a happy person am at least able to analyse , think , feel , sense and analyse something undefined called Happiness..

Trust me Am Happy!

Hi Veena, thanks for the blog roll!! Happiness to me is a state of mind, a fleeting one at that ... when it feels good to be you :-) ... how is that for a definition?

From Guy Kawasaki's speech-

#9 Pursue joy, not happiness.

This is probably the hardest lesson of all to learn. It probably seems to you that the goal in life is to be “happy.” Oh, you maybe have to sacrifice and study and work hard, but, by and large, happiness should be predictable.

Nice house. Nice car. Nice material things.

Take my word for it, happiness is temporary and fleeting. Joy, by contrast, is unpredictable. It comes from pursuing interests and passions that do not obviously result in happiness.

Pursuing joy, not happiness will translate into one thing over the next few years for you: Study what you love. This may also not be popular with parents. When I went to college, I was “marketing driven.” It's also an Oriental thing.

I looked at what fields had the greatest job opportunities and prepared myself for them. This was stupid. There are so many ways to make a living in the world, it doesn't matter that you've taken all the “right” courses. I don't think one person on the original Macintosh team had a classic “computer science” degree.

You parents have a responsibility in this area. Don't force your kids to follow in your footsteps or to live your dreams. My father was a senator in Hawaii. His dream was to be a lawyer, but he only had a high school education. He wanted me to be a lawyer.

For him, I went to law school. For me, I quit after two weeks. I view this a terrific validation of my inherent intelligence. And when I quit, neither of my parents were angry. They loved me all just the same.

@ Hi K , Thanks for that speech..well Things some times go beyond studying your favorite subject or freedom to choose your profession. A fit and fine body can be a biggest achievement or Highest level of happiness for a person who is terribly Ill....So really cant say any thing.. For a broker at this stage of economic unrest would be just a stability of Market..hmm..

The definition of Happiness: - _______________________________

Different people have different views, different opinions, and way of thinking is also different. So there are countless definitions of happiness, but the only definition that matters… Are the ones you define?

I believe happiness is relative. You can be happy if you can relate it to things around you... always.

Anyway, nice post.

@Jay...Yes I agree that definition that matters… Are the ones you define..All we need is to stick to those definitions..
